Thanks to the detailed planning provided by PERI engineers and high flexibility of the PERI balanced cantilever equipment, the superstructure of the cable stay bridge could be completed according to the schedule.
When moving the PERI cantilevered construction carriage above the overhead lines, the safety of construction team and the adjacent area was always guaranteed through the compatibility with the PERI UP modular scaffolding.
Construction of the 252 m long crossing over the Krakow-Plaszow railway junction was carried out using 4 VARIOKIT cantilevered construction carriages.
Heavy railway traffic at one of the busiest stations in Poland remained undisturbed during construction thanks to the PERI balanced cantilever equipment.
In the foreland area, PERI UP Rosett Flex load-bearing system together with a throughway consisting of HD 200 heavy-duty props was used as shoring solution to support the 207 m long viaduct. Thanks to 25 cm or 50 cm system grid, the position of the legs could be flexibly adapted to accommodate the respective loads. The aluminium PERI UP Rosett staircases served as safe access means for site personnel.
As part of the Krakow metropolitan railway system (KST) expansion, a 40 m high asymmetrical viaduct pylon was erected in the second phase of construction, featuring a combined A and H geometry. At 2/3 of the pylon height, horizontally suspended SB brace frames were used. These formed a load-bearing intermediate platform for the crossbeam, a technological platform for the reinforcement materials as well as, in the final phase, a sub-construction for the scaffolding in order to install the stay cables. The PERI comprehensive solution allowed short concreting cycles with the highest possible safety standards.

The PERI cantilevered construction equipment used allowed easy and quick formwork alignment as well as providing safe working conditions above the railway. With the help of the balanced cantilever carriage, extremely short concreting cycles as well as punctual realization of the project according to plan are possible. Thanks to the cooperation with PERI, the job could be realized in spite of the complicated infrastructure around the structure.
