Impressions from the project process
In 25 m long concreting steps and four cycle sequences, the tunnel bottom plate, two wall sections respectively and then the slab could be concreted one after the other.
System components from the VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork system provided the ideal basis for all areas as the load-bearing GT 24 formwork girders could be used very flexibly.
In only 11 months, around 200,000 m³ of concrete were used in the construction of the road tunnel.
The 38 m wide tunnel connects the man-made Jumeirah Palm Island with the outer crescent.

We were able to achieve a fast cycle sequence with the PERI systems. They are easy to handle and offer many different uses. On top of this, PERI offered us the required technical support at the jobsite.
