VARIOKIT frames with VARIO formwork enables the tunnel roof to take shape

Infrastructure for Tunnelling

Construct with confidence from one end to the other

From innovative temporary works that support shaft construction to accommodating various tunnel geometries, our engineering team has a diverse level of expertise in tunnelling. With the flexible design of our VARIOKIT components, we can provide a solution for any cross-section and casting method.

Our Projects

Thanks to the detailed planning provided by PERI engineers and high flexibility of the PERI balanced cantilever equipment, the superstructure of the cable stay bridge could be completed according to the schedule.
The 258 m long and 50 m high arched bridge crosses the Opamo Valley in the Bohemian Forest.
Up to 30 m high VARIOKIT VST heavy-duty shoring towers served as falsework for the construction of the bridge edge sections. Each leg carried a load of around 600 kN.
For the 1,083 m long Trmice motorway bridge near Aussig in the Czech Republic, 59 piers were cost-effectively formed using PERI formwork.
The southern entrance area was constructed using the cut-and-cover method for a length of around 1.5 km. With the two PERI formwork carriages, the walls and slabs of the two separate tunnels could be cost-effectively concreted in one pour.
Only when seen from an aerial perspective is the scale of the construction site really apparent: the area is the size of around 2,000 football pitches.
In the complex area with an extremely tight outer radius, the concentrated loads of the radially-arranged cantilever brackets are transferred into the available bridge piers by means of pressure supports.
The large spans in the middle bridge sections were concreted by means of the balanced cantilever method.
The Midfield Terminal Complex is the ultimate in construction sites: in order to maintain the tight construction schedule, PERI planned and delivered the formwork and scaffolding systems, and has provided yet another convincing performance through the competent engineering service and provision of huge quantities of materials at short notice.
In 25 m long concreting steps and four cycle sequences, the tunnel bottom plate, two wall sections respectively and then the slab could be concreted one after the other.
Rabat-Iteen Interchange
The pre-stressed hollow box superstructure was formed with VARIO GT 24 wall formwork and MULTIFLEX slab formwork.
PERI UP scaffolding on the longitudinal sides of the building was designed according to the expected loads and carried the construction loads.
The 600 m long, new satellite terminal at Munich airport is located in the centre of the airfield and encloses the apron tower and incorporates the existing baggage sorting centre. Construction is taking place during normal airport operations and presents an enormous challenge to all those involved in the project.
One of the two production lines with the formwork assemblies reaching a total weight of 1,150 t. Here the internal formwork has been retracted into the reinforcement cage.
Apart from the two pylons, a total of nine double piers are being constructed on both sides of the ravine which are braced by means of massive cross beams.
In the area of the double piers, 14 complete ACS self-climbing units with telescopic working platforms were used.
PERI UP Rosett formed the falsework construction and was erected according to the type test. The tight construction schedule required support along the entire length of 75 m.
A VARIOKIT cantilevered parapet carriage serves for constructing the external cantilevered parapets. The horizontal loads are transferred via friction, anchoring is not required.
Increased efficiency with optimized team capacity
With some supplementary system components, the VARIOKIT engineering construction kit can also be used for the balanced cantilever construction method. For the construction of the motorway bridge near Tarnow, the construction crew achieved a 4 to 5-day cycle thanks to the easy to use, mechanical solution. At the same time, the high requirements concerning the very small tolerances for the variable bridge cross-sections could be fulfilled.
